wow.. Simply amazing guys! Indeed a trip down memory lane. Really puts you in your place when you see 8bit scrolling text was elite back then - now you see 32bit graphics that are only held back by the limits of hardware. Nearly bought a tear to my eye at the Atari section. Outstanding.

Oh - my - god. What a trip down memory lane that was. The Atari section, with the scrollers and the bobs and the zooming. Can I just say I am guilty of changing the text in some of your demo screens way back when we were all swapping software. I was never that clever. And the music!!! I forgot what kind of sound the YM chip threw out. So so so cool. Jam (of Acid Jam Productions)

Oh My God!!! What a site and what a find!!! Back in the day 1989-1996 I was an avid demo collector of all ST/E demo's and productions, I just want you to know that it's crews like yourselves that made the 16bit days absolutely fantastic. No other scene comes close, the PC scene is boring, all 3d routines made in some lame ass C++ 3D editor, but the challenges of pushing the 16bits to their limits was awesome. You guys were part of that and they were the best days of my life. 100% respect to you, i'm honoured to even browse your pages. Thank you for everything you've ever done!!! :-D :-D :-D Peace...

Its good to know all the demo concepts and C/C++ sourcecode floating around has been migrated and adapted so efficiently across to the Java platform. 5/5 for conversion and optimization work! 1/5 for originality/creativity. Good luck in your ventures, although a 44KHZ Stereo YM Java Emu with a small footprint would be lovely! Especially if adaptable by website owners.

Fantasic site. Very impressed with the Java demos - shame that most of today's generation (sound as though I'm old - I'm 25) won't appreciate it. But it's incredible, I've never bothered with Java, but I might just give it a try. I was amazed by the Java ST Yamaha sound-chip emulator - I didn't know that Java would do real-time audio synthesis like that. Incredible - I feel 14/15 again... Ahh. School... No responsibility... Just fun... Why did I grow up? Er, got carried away there. Thanks for such a great site though - much of the 'net is crap, but this rocks! Keep the good work up!!!

Great site. Equinox is still a great demo maker team !! (design always design.... and good coding ;-) ) I can always remember when I was on the french scene... Lot of nights spended in ASM coding in parties ... Vodka.... etc... It was really the golden age... You probably can't remember "The Storm Brothers" : TSB ... We were in the dark side.... as swappers.. but we used to organize "the megafun party" in Lille, every years... I remember my last mega menu code : a 7 sync lines overscan code, with soundtrack music (8 voices at 22KHz!). We used graphics ripped from the game "gods"..... It was a cool menu... If you have some demos from my old team (I am dreaming...), please e-mail me these !! Greetings to : All the actual and past ST scene :Equinox, Replicants, Impact, le sergent, neXt, The lost boys, MadMax, .......... Bye !!!!

hi there, just been browsing that ripped off demo site. remember me? i bought my first atari 400 computer 22 years ago and wrote the rob c menu creator. i bought the st as soon as it came out and became was (not was) for my first 50 menu releases at which time i formed automation and became vapour for many years until changing the group name to d-bug.i was responsible for around 180 menus under the d-bug name using hot knife as my handle. still remember all those cool demos from tex, ulm, the carebears and many others. some cool games from thalion. (sorry about the cracks guys but i couldn't resist} if you know any of the replicants members then ask them to get in touch with me! its great that people still remember the atari days. cheers rob.c

Vive Equinox. Byebye.

This is the first time I've been to this site on a PC at work (usually on my Falcon), and wow, I love the Java stuff. It's great that others from outside the Atari scene can see your ST effects! Keep up the good work. When's the next Falcon production? I can't wait!! drool! ;-))

Very nice idea (and work) those old school effect conversion in java. Keep it up, I never liked the Atari, like most amiga die hard, but we all know there was a great load of talent on this less successfull machine.

I do remember parties where we were just shy kids a bit austistic. You were the only to drink a lot... You were different, you still are.

What a nostalgia to find you now still alive... I am on Atati since the beginning of the ST and have a huge collection of demo disks (I've got all of yours...). I think thant EQX is certainly one the best group on the Atari and I hope it will continue... Thanks a lot for all you've done... And please continue...
